First-term Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) is a member of the Senate Banking Committee who played an integral part in the recent debate over federal assistance to the automotive industry. He talked about his life prior to his election to the Senate and the business background that he brought to the auto industry debate. Video clips were shown from the December 4, 2008, Senate Banking Committee hearing in which Senator Corker questioned auto industry officials, as well as one from December 11, 2008, two days after the interview, of Senator Corker on the chamber floor introducing alternative legislation for assisting the automotive industry. close
