Scenes were shown of Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site, a reconstruction of the village where Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood. This was part of an eight-day President Abraham Lincoln bicentennial tour led by Richard Norton Smith through about 20 Lincoln sites in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. After an introductory speech, the group interacted with interpreters throughout the village. close
