Jeffrey Lacker talked about restoring economic stability. In his remarks he proposed that aid to financial institutions circumvents normal market operation and exposes banks to further pressures which could be harmful to the financial markets and health of banks. He called for more limited action by the Federal Reserve in order to permit greater innovation and latitude for financial institutions. He also answered questions from the audience.

“Restoring Financial and Economic Stability: A View from the Fed” was part of the program of the 25th Annual National Association for Business Economists Washington Economic Policy Conference, held at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel. close
