Catherine Clinton talked about her biography of the wife of President Abraham Lincoln, Mrs. Lincoln: A Life (Harper; January 6, 2009). This book is the first biography of Mary Todd Lincoln in 21 years. The author argues that Mrs. Lincoln had her faults but that she has been unfairly portrayed by many Lincoln scholars.
