Karen Greenberg talked about her book The Least Worst Place: Guantanamo’s First 100 Days (Oxford University Press, USA; March 16, 2009). In her book she recounts the beginning of Guantanamo Bay as a detainee facility. Guantanamo Bay started receiving detainees in December 2001 with few guidelines or directions from the Pentagon. This led to clashes between military officers stationed in Guantanamo Bay and civilian officials in Washington. She answered questions from members of the audience. close
