Representative Henry Waxman talked about his new book, The Waxman Report: How Congress Really Works (Twelve; July 2, 2009). In his book the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee recalled his thirty-five years in the U.S. House of Representatives, focusing on the work that was necessary to pass eight pieces of legislation that he felt did a great deal of good. Representative Waxman presented his thoughts on several of the pieces of legislation that he has worked on, including the Clean Air Act and more stringent tobacco regulations. He also talked about current legislation in Congress and responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. Susan Davis was the guest host. close
