Secretary of Defense Robert Gates hosted a remembrance event for the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks at the Pentagon Memorial to honor the memory of those killed there in the attack. The event was for the family members of those lost in the terrorist attack and not open to the general public. The ceremony included remarks by Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen and Secretary Gates, and a wreath laying and President Obama.
