Eugene Rogan talked about his book The Arabs: A History (Basic Books; November 3, 2009). In his book he covers five centuries of Arab history. He talked about recent history leading to the policies of President Barak Obama and how they have been received in the Arab world. He responded to questions from members of the audience.

This reception and lecture, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on November 19, 2009, at the Oxford University North American Office, was held at the Harvard Club.

Eugene Rogan is a faculty fellow and university lecturer in the Modern History of the Middle East at St Antony’s College, Oxford. He is also director of the college’s Middle East Centre. close
