Barnet Schecter presents a biography of George Washington’s life through the maps that the first president drafted and collected. The maps range from those Washington used during his early career as a surveyor, many he used during the American Revolution, and a survey of his estate at Mount Vernon. Barnet Schecter showed slides of Washington’s maps during his presentation at the New York Society Library in New York City. He also responded to questions from members of the audience. close
