Nan Roman and Senator Jack Reed talked about a new report from the National Alliance to End Homelessness. The report’s co-author William Sermons and a former homeless woman, Ebony Roscoe, who received temporary housing through the group Community for Hope, also spoke. According to the report, California, Florida, and Nevada have the highest rates of homelessness and that the nation’s homeless population increased by approximately 3 percent from 2008 to 2009. The recession was cited as a contributing factor to this increase in overall homelessness in the U.S. close
