“Captain” Will Kayne gave an overview of the history of the hotel and former ocean liner RMS Queen Mary, including her service as a troop ship during WWII. Clips from newsreels showed her departure on her final voyage from Southampton on October 31, 1967, and arrival at her final destination of Long Beach, California, on December 9, 1967. Other video clips showed her service as the world’s biggest troop ship and in ferrying British Prime Minister Winston Churchill to the United States after the war. close
