Historian Alan Brinkley discussed the crises President Kennedy faced in 1961, including the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Berlin Crisis, and the lessons he learned from those events. He is the author of the forthcoming book, John F. Kennedy: The 35th President, 1961-1963, in the Times Books American Presidents Series. Mr. Brinkley discussed the Kennedy presidency with Marc Selverstone. Then they responded to questions from members of the audience, moderated by Brian Balogh.
