Witnesses testified about the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a bill that would create a federal ban on discrimination against gay, lesbians, bisexual, and transgender people in the workplace. The bill included exemptions for religious institutions and certain small businesses. Among those testifying was the first openly transgender person to testify before a Senate committee. close
