Lieutenant General Dan Haloutz talked about security in Israel and Iran’s nuclear program. He also responded to questions from the audience. In his remarks he said that the best approach to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons was diplomatic talks and tougher sanctions. He said he did not support setting a deadline, or creating “red lines,” as was suggested when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “those in the international community who refuse to draw a red line on Iran have no moral right to draw a red line for Israel.” close
