President Bush spoke briefly and responded to reporters' questions on the relief efforts underway for victims of Hurricane Andrew in Florida during a photo opportunity in a meeting of the president with many of his top advisers. The president stressed his contention that he was not considering the political aspects of the disaster relief efforts in Florida, and said history would show that the relief efforts underway for the hurricane’s victims were appropriate. close
