A group of Republican House members under the age of 40 held a press conference at the party’s retreat at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, Maryland. They discussed next steps on immigration legislation and said the president’s health care law unfairly raises costs for young people. They did not respond directly to reporters' questions about passing a stand-alone bill to raise the debt ceiling. Representative Schock referred to remarks by then-Senator Obama about tying the debt ceiling to a debt reduction plan.
After the formal press conference the representatives mingled with the reporters and answered more questions. close
