Rear Admiral Kirby talked about the 65 prisoners released by Afghanistan authorities during the week over strong objections from U.S. officials. He said that the U.S. was concerned about other potential releases of Afghanistan prisoners and that those prisoners who returned to the fight would do sot at their “own peril.”
