Panelists talked about ways to reverse the trend of declining middle class jobs as a result of technological advances. The discussion began with a PowerPoint presentation from Andrew McAfee with data on the economy and workforce. Van Jones said that employers are not investing their profits back into communities. Scott Murphy argued that technology is a good thing but that growth was too fast for legislation and regulation to keep pace with, in addition to a lack of consensus on public policy to distribute the wealth. They also talked about the need for immigration reform and increasing access to broadband technology. close
