Adrienne Mayor talked about her book The Amazons: Lives and Legends of Warrior Women Across the Ancient World, in which she combines classical myth and art, nomad traditions, and scientific archaeology to reveal details about the lives of these women warriors across the ancient world, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Great Wall of China.

She spoke in the Science Pavilion of the 2014 National Book Festival, which was held August 30 by the Library of Congress at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. close
