U.S. Botanic Garden Executive Director Ari Novy gave a tour of what he calls a “living plant museum” that is located at the base of Capitol Hill and was established by Congress in 1820. Several plants in the conservatory date back to the 1840s, from specimens collected by the U.S. Exploring Expedition’s four year circumnavigation of the world. close
