History of USS Cavalla
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Galveston, Texas, from January 16-20, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2.

William Wells toured the USS Cavalla, a retired World War II era submarine, and talked about its history.On January 21, 1971, the U.S. Navy transferred possession of USS Cavalla to the Texas Submarine Veterans of World War II. The ship was then delivered to her permanent berth at Seawolf Park in Galveston, Texas.
