Short of the Glory
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Lexington, Kentucky, from June 20-25 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2.

Tracy Campbell talked about his book Short of the Glory: The Fall and Redemption of Edward Pritchard, in which he tells the story of political figure Edward Pritchard. Edward Pritchard was from Bourbon County, Kentucky, and later went on to clerk in the U.S. Supreme Court and became an important figure during President Roosevelt’s time in office. In 1948, Pritchard was indicted for stuffing 254 votes in a U.S. Senate race.
