U.K. Prime Minister John Major read a brief statement and responded to questions from reporters during a brief news conference outside 10 Downing Street in London. He commented on the coalition attack against Iraqi military targets which took place earlier in the day, and stated that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein should expect continued retaliation unless he abides by the U.N. resolutions concerning the “no-fly” zone in Iraq. close
