The committee heard testimony from Mr. Greenspan on the state of the U.S. economy and his forecast for the economy in the future. In his remarks, Mr. Greenspan said he generally agreed with the fiscal proposals of the Clinton administration in speeding economic growth with short-term economic stimulus. He also said he did not see such stimulus as causing an inflationary trend. close
