Following his meeting with the President, Cornello Sommaruga was accompanied by Elizabeth Dole spoke to reporters outside the White House on the post-war relief efforts in the Persian Gulf. He expressed his appreciation to President Bush for participating in a discussion on relief efforts, and responded to reporters' questions concerning a team of reporters missing in Iraq and the role of the Red Cross in the post-war Persian Gulf. Ms. Dole announced a fund-raising campaign of the American Red Cross which will partially benefit the International Red Cross and her upcoming visit to the Persian Gulf. close
