Panelists talked about issues facing consumer freedom of expression online, specifically the tactics businesses use to silence critical reviews. Speakers included attorneys from TripAdvisor, the Federal Trade Commission, and Consumers Union.

At the time of the event, Congress was considering the Consumer Review Freedom Act, aimed at stopping businesses from penalizing consumers with legal action or hefty fines for leaving negative reviews.   close
