Lieutenant General James Gavin (Retired) testified at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing investigating the Vietnam War. He spoke in opposition to the policies of the Johnson administration. Known as the “Jumping General,” Gavin led the 82nd Airborne during World War II and was the only U.S. General to make four combat parachute jumps during the war. close
