General David Rodriguez, commander of U.S. Africa Command, briefed reporters and responded to questions on military operations in Africa. General Rodriguez said that the number of ISIL* fighters in Libya had doubled over the last 12 to 18 months and estimated between 6,000 and 8,000 ISIL fighters were on the ground there.
