Private Book Collection of Beverly Rogers
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Las Vegas, Nevada, from May 7-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communication cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2.

Beverly Rogers, philanthropist and chair of the Rogers Foundation, gave a tour of a portion of her collection, focusing on 19th century printing practices. Since 2006, she amassed a collection of rare books, from first editions to forgeries. The collection was housed by the Black Mountain Institute in the Beverly Rogers Literature and Law Building on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
