Federal Reserve Board Member Jerome Powell spoke at the Peterson Institute for International Economics about monetary policy and the status of the U.S. economy. He encouraged continued gradualism in working toward the Federal Reserve’s goals of stable prices and maximum employment, and said that while a summer interest rate increase was possible, he would not make a decision on voting for or against an increase until the Fed’s next meeting in June 2016. close
