The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the increasing use of synthetic drugs that mimic the effects of illegal narcotics. Federal, state, and local law enforcement officials testified about the abused of these types of drugs and the loopholes that allow them to be sold legally. Witnesses also included a man whose son committed suicide shortly after using a legally-purchased synthetic drug. close
