Names of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 were read at a 15th anniversary remembrance ceremony in New York City. Also remembered were those who died in the February 26, 1993, World Trade Center bombing. The names were read by family members of victims, pausing to mark the times that each plane hit the towers, the time when each tower fell, when the plane hit the Pentagon, and the crash of Flight 93. An honor guard made up of individuals representing the Fire Department (FDNY), Police Department (NYPD), and Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) participated. The Brooklyn Youth Chorus sang the “Star Spangled Banner” a capella and accompained Renée Elise Goldsberry in singing “Forever Young.” Other music included bagpipes and drums, a flute, and trumpets. close
