Josh Earnest briefed reporters and responded to questions on a range of issues. He said President Obama still planned on vetoing a bill that would allow families of victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to sue the government of Saudi Arabia. The White House argued that the legislation could negatively impact U.S. foreign relations and potentially lead other countries to retaliate with lawsuits. The House passed the bill, the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, ahead of the 15th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks. close
