The U.S. Capitol Historical Society presented its 2017 Freedom Award to playwright and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda for his work on the musical “Hamilton.” Mr. Miranda spoke at the ceremony in the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall. Other speakers were House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Representative John Lewis (D-GA), and Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). close
