Tax policy experts testified at a hearing on possible reforms to the U.S. business tax code. The witnesses offered changes they believe could spur economic growth. In his opening statement, Committee Chair Orrin Hatch (R-UT) expressed his hope that the committee could proceed on tax reform through regular order and in a bipartisan manner. Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) said he also hoped for a bipartisan solution but expressed his skepticism due to Senate Majority Leader McConnell’s (R-KY) position that tax reform would be passed through the budget reconciliation process. close
