The commission heard testimony from staff members on Air Force bases slated for closure by the Department of Defense during the second day of the commission’s final deliberations on military base closings. The commission is expected to determine its recommendations concerning the Department of Defense list of military bases slated for closure in five days of hearings beginning the previous day. The commission’s recommendations will be submitted to the president and the U.S. House of Representatives later in the summer. close
