Former ambassadors representing the U.S., Canada and Mexico talked about the potential consequences of the U.S. exiting the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). All agreed that pulling out of NAFTA would have serious consequences, not just on the cost of everyday purchases in the automobile and agriculture sectors, but on the geopolitical stage. The ambassadors also warned that America’s leadership and positioning in the world would be compromised and future relations between Mexico and Canada could be strained. close
