Legal experts and scholars took part in a discussion on obstruction of justice law, which was a part of the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. The panelists talked about how prosecutors build an obstruction of justice case, the laws governing investigation interference, and how those laws might apply differently to the president or other top administration officials. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) made remarks on those issues and warned those in attendance not to lose sight of the threats posed by future Russian interference in U.S. elections. close
