The Heritage Foundation hosted a discussion on NAFTA negotiations and the national security implications if the U.S. pulls out of the agreement. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE), a strong NAFTA supporter, gave the keynote address and outlined several ways leaving the deal would negatively affect Nebraskans and jobs. Then, former U.S. Ambassadors to Mexico John Negroponte and Earl Anthony Wayne joined a panel on U.S. relations between Mexico and Canada, China’s increasing geopolitical influence, and national security implications. close
