Lynn Woolsey represented California in the U.S. House from 1993 to 2013. She was the first former welfare mother to serve in Congress. She talked about her work with the Congressional Progressive Caucus and about her decision to co-found the Out of Iraq Caucus. She also discussed the National Marine Sanctuary and her efforts to protect the California coast. The U.S. House of Representatives Office of the Historian conducted this interview. close
