On this episode of C-SPAN’s The Weekly Podcast: Our guest is a man who knows both how to play the game of politics and all the players in the game. Starting in the late 1960's, Haley Barbour left his senior year of college to go work on then candidate Richard Nixon’s presidential campaign. Two years later he was running the 1970 census for the state of Mississippi. In the 1980's he served as a political aid to President Ronald Reagan. By 1993 he became the Chairman of the Republican National Committee and in 2003 he was elected by the state of Mississippi to be their 63rd Governor. He joins C-SPAN to talk about his career, the upcoming midterm elections, and the current political climate in America. close
