Constructed in 1934 along the Colorado River, Parker Dam created Lake Havasu. Lake Havasu City water resources coordinator Doyle Wilson talked about how the water reservoir serves as a recreational spot in western Arizona but also plays a vital role in feeding water to millions of people in Arizona and southern California.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2018 LCV Cities Tour” in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, from October 6-10, 2018, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Altice cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
