The Washington Institute for Near East Policy hosted a panel discussion on U.S. policy toward Iran. Among the speakers were former U.S. Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Barbara Leaf and retired Vice Admiral John Miller, who served as commander of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. At the event, panelists responded to the Trump administration’s decision to deploy about 1,500 troops to the Middle East amid tensions with Iran. close
