Representative Jodey Arrington (R-TX) spoke by phone about the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on his congressional district. He also talked about potential legislation responding to the economic effects of the COVID-19 response, and how his family was coping with staying at home.

Danielle Allen, director of Harvard University’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, talked about the center’s report on how U.S. leaders could marshal resources to safely reopen the nation’s economy after the shutdowns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan called for a massive increase in the number of tests conducted and a phased return for various types of businesses.

Dr. Gregory Poland, director of the Vaccine Research Group at the Mayo Clinic, discussed ongoing efforts to develop a vaccine protecting against COVID-19. He talked about that process and how long it would take, and answered viewer calls on various ways to combat the virus. close
