The House Rules Committee met to discuss the establishment of the Select Subcommittee on the Cornavirus Crisis. The new committee is to assess the federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, as well as to provide oversight of the trillions of stimulus dollars designated for relief in order to ensure the funds go to small businesses and the American people as intended, not large corporations or banks. Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) testified before the committee to his opposition of the creation of the new committee, saying “... this is just one more attempt by the Democrats to go after the president.” close
