Axios held a series of virtual interviews focusing on a range of topics, including, slavery reparations, civil rights, the nationwide protests, and police reform. Among the speakers were Black Entertainment Television (BET) co-founder Robert Johnson; Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner; Valerie Jarrett, former senior adviser to former President Obama; and Campaign Zero co-founder DeRay McKesson. The Axios event commemorated Juneteenth, a non-federal holiday that marks the end of slavery in the United States. close
