President of the Children’s Defense Fund, Marian Edelman spoke to a plenary session of the National Urban League on issues affecting African-American children. Ms. Edelman noted such issues as the gap in opportunity between economic classes in America and the civil war in American fueled by guns, gangs and drugs. She called for the National Urban League to stand up to the National Rifle Association to reduce the number of guns in America, and discussed the racial divisions still separating American society. close
