British Prime Minister Boris Johnson fielded questions from members on domestic and foreign issues in the House of Commons. During his exchange with Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, the prime minister defended his actions in the recent resignation of Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who led the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Mr. Hancock resigned after pictures surfaced of him breaching social distance guidelines by kissing a colleague. The prime minister pushed back against the criticism saying, “We have a new health secretary in place and have had one since the day after the stories appeared and that was entirely right and the right response to the situation.” close
