State Department Spokesman Michael McCurry briefed reporters on the situation in Haiti and the effort to help the Haitian government in a smooth transition of power. He stated that the U.S. vessel off the coast of Haiti was not allowed to dock and will return to international waters until such time as they are allowed back into the harbor. Further sanctions will be requested by the U.S. government if army forces refuse to relinquish power. close
