Association members met at a fund-raiser to present awards to outstanding individuals. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan was awarded the association’s United States Congressional Leadership Award for actions in accord with the United Nations Charter. Vice President Al Gore was recognized for his efforts to promote environmental issues. U.N. Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali received the association’s Global Leadership Award. Following each award presentation, the recipients read prepared speeches. close
